NekeTerah Community-Based Organization is a locally-led, community-centered initiative dedicated to empowering vulnerable populations in Kenya. We provide integrated support across mental health, education, HIV awareness, and economic empowerment. Guided by compassion, inclusion, and equity, we work hand-in-hand with communities to restore dignity, promote healing, and create sustainable pathways for resilience and transformation. At NekeTerah, we believe that lasting change begins from within — by uplifting the voices and potential of those most often left behind.

To empower vulnerable populations through community-centered mental health services, economic empowerment, education access, and advocacy, guided by compassion, inclusion, and resilience.
NekeTerah CBO is mandated to:
  1. Promote community mental health and psychosocial support

  2. Prevent and respond to substance abuse and social challenges

  3. Support youth and women in skills development and income generation

  4. Integrate HIV and reproductive health into holistic care

  5. Champion inclusive education and social reintegration

  6. Advocate for community rights, healing, and equitable development

  • Deliver direct services to at-risk groups

  • Conduct awareness campaigns and outreach

  • Train caregivers, youth, and community leaders

  • Provide safe spaces for healing and empowerment

  • Engage in policy dialogue and community mobilization

  • Conduct research and monitor impact

NekeTerah CBO is governed by a dedicated Board of Directors and managed by a lean secretariat comprising program coordinators, field officers, and volunteers.
